Time & time again, life gives us little nudges that point us toward who we are meant to be. For some, those signs are subtle. For others, the signs are loud, repetitive, & impossible to ignore; this category is my perfect match! I feel like my life's purpose punches me in the gut weekly, & I'll have a moment of anger or tears, & then say to myself, "Oh. This is your purpose in life - own it!".
The truth is; your purpose has been woven into your daily experiences all along - it's just a matter of recognizing it, accepting it, & learning how to live it fully.
The Repeated Signs
If we find ourselves in the same types of situations over & over again (me), that is rarely a coincidence. Maybe people are always coming to us for advice, for a safe space to share. Or maybe you are their sounding board & your purpose is to simply listen without judgement. Maybe we're constantly the one who smooths over conflicts, acts as a mediator, finds middle ground, or brings clarity to a situation.
These are not random events. They are mirrors showing us who we really are. Our purpose leaves footprints in our everyday lives.
The Power of Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is not about labeling ourselves; it's owning our strengths & recognizing the patterns & where they naturally fit in our lives. Many of us resist our gifts because they feel "too easy" or because we choose not to recognize our purpose, or because we want our purpose to look different. But our true purpose rarely comes from struggle - it often flows from what we do instinctively.
Embracing Our Duty in Life
Purpose is not always about a job title or a grand mission. Sometimes, it's about being the person others can rely on in moments of chaos or confusion. If we are the listener, the mediator, the one who helps people feel seen or heard, then our purpose is already active in our lives. That is pretty amazing!
Instead of fighting it, we can lean into it by asking:
How can I develop this gift even further?
How can I use it to help not just those close to me, but to the wider world?
How can I honor myself while serving others (I love this one)?
Moving Forward with Intention
Recognizing our purpose is only the beginning. Living it requires intention, & that may bean setting boundaries so our gifts don't drain us. It might mean channeling our strengths into a new career, a business, or a passion project. It might mean simply showing up each day with the awareness that our presence alone brings healing & balance.
This is where guidance can make a difference. As a coach, I help clients recognize the repeating signs in their lives, uncover the unique gifts they may have overlooked, & begin to embrace them with clarity & confidence. Together, we create space for self-discovery, build the tools to protect the energy, & design a plan for living a life with purpose.
Because the truth is - your purpose is not something "out there" waiting to be found. It is already alive within you, showing up in patterns, conversations, & the roles you are asked to step into time & time again
. The key is not to resist, but to become more aware of it, embrace it, refine it, & share it with the rest of the world, in a way that only you can.
